The I-15 Express Lanes provide 20 miles of congestion-free travel from State Route 78 in Escondido to State Route 163 in San Diego. The flexible four-lane “expressway within a freeway” can be expanded or contracted based on traffic congestion and special needs to keep traffic in the Express Lanes flowing smoothly.

Choose to travel in a carpool, vanpool, Clean Air Vehicle, motorcycle, or transit, and use the I-15 Express Lanes for free. Driving solo? You can access the lanes for a fee with a FasTrak® transponder.
