Getting FasTrak is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

  1. Sign up for an I-15 Express Lanes or South Bay Expressway FasTrak account online (we recommend using Chrome, Edge, or Internet Explorer), purchase your transponder from a participating Costco retail location, or visit our Customer Service Center.

  2. Install your FasTrak transponder; just follow these simple mounting instructions.

  3. Use FasTrak on the I-15 Express Lanes, South Bay Expressway, and a growing list of California toll roads and bridges! You can use your FasTrak transponder wherever you see the FasTrak symbol.
FasTrak Tolls
Tolls on the I-15 Express Lanes vary between 50 cents and $8, depending on distance traveled and traffic in the lanes. South Bay Expressway tolls vary depending on distance and whether or not a FasTrak account is being used. Review the toll calculator at for prices.

FasTrak Fees

There is a $3.50 minimum monthly toll (MMT), plus $1 for each transponder associated with an account. The MMT can be applied to your monthly toll usage. If you don't spend $4.50 per month in tolls, your account will be assessed the difference, up to a total of $4.50, for an account with one transponder. Your MMT will be automatically deducted the following month. For example, your May MMT would be deducted in June.

Only tolls paid electronically on the I-15 Express Lanes or South Bay Expressway with a valid FasTrak transponder count toward the MMT for SBX and I-15 accounts. Transactions on other FasTrak toll roads and bridges (outside San Diego) do not count toward the MMT.

Note: In order to avoid unnecessary fees, make sure your credit card and license plate information is updated in your account.

To protect the health and safety of customers and staff, our walk-in Customer Service Center is closed to the public effective July 14, 2020 and Toll Attendants are not staffing the Otay Mesa Toll Plaza. Assistance by phone and email is still available during normal business hours.
